Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup (250 ml)
- Baking soda: 1 tsp (5 ml)
- Ground cinnamon: 1 tsp (5 ml)
- Ground nutmeg: ¾ tsp (3 ml)
- Salt: ¼ tsp (1 ml)
- Butter: ¼ cup (1 ml) or margarine, softened
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup (25 ml)
- Eggs
- Apples: 2 cups (500 ml) sliced peeled
Utensils
- Large mixing bowl
- Electric mixer
- 8 inch (2 L) square metal cake pan
- Wire rack
Directions
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; stir to mix well.
- In a bowl with an electric mixer, cream together butter and sugar.
- Blend in egg. Fold in apple slices. Gradually add flour mixture, stirring after each addition.
- Pour batter into prepared 8 inch (2 L) square metal cake pan.
- Bake in preheated oven 350°F (180°C) for 30-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
